I hope Josephine doesn't see this before her birthday :) Nico painted some pictures this morning to send along with Josephine's other birthday present. While we painted, we looked at a photo of Aunt Josephine and talked about her and her birthday, about how we would be sending these paintings in the mail to her in Baltimore, etc. This afternoon, Nico and Daddy went to the tot lot for the first time this season. Apparently, Nico played on every single implement there, and would have stayed there all afternoon and evening if it was up to him. Unfortunately, Daddy eventually got hungry, so they had to come home. While Daddy had a meeting this evening for the Great River Energy bicycle race, Mama and Nico read some books, and then took a fun, long bath together. Nico has been loving the baths again lately (thank god!#). He's been "swimming" in the tub, laying on his belly and kicking his legs, flapping his "fins" and making a fish face. Tonight, all on his own, he started dipping his whole face into the water. He'd close his eyes and purse his lips, dunk it in for a second and then come back up giggling. On about the 3rd try, he inhaled a little bit of water, so that was it for the face-dunking. After the bath, we went upstairs, put jammies on without much trouble, grabbed some books and snuggled in bed. Nico's schedule has been screwy since the daylight savings time change, so it was nice to have him back on track tonight, asleep shortly after 7.
