On Mama's birthday, we were playing out in the pool when she suddenly realized the cake she was making (yes, Mama made her own cake on her birthday - BAD Daddy, BAD) needed to come out of the oven so she rushed inside and took the first corner a bit too fast for the conditions (namely wet feet on linoleum) and feel on top of her foot.

Nico and I heard a LOUD crash and came inside to find Mama on the floor clutching her foot and saying, "I'm not sure I'm OK".  

We made a doctors appointment the next day and ended up canceling it because the RICE treatment (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) seemed to be working it out. A week later and the foot is doing fine.  

OK, two items here. First came the spinning sunflower from our neighbor Doris. It was in her backyard and we could see it from our front yard so Nico would point and grunt whenever he saw it. After a few weeks of this, Doris and I were chatting with Nico and Doris said, please take the sunflower, I'm afraid Nico will run out into the street to get it and I'm worried sick about it, so please please just take it. So, that's been a staple toy for nico the last few weeks.

The pool is brand new. It was hot last week so we went to Target and splurged $20 on it. It has a little hose you can hook up so water flows like a shower through the top - kinda cool! It's been fun, we've used it 3 times already, Nico seems to like, Mama and Daddy love it!
