Things seem so much easier in the light of day... Daddy and Nico are now rocking happily and comfortably after breakfast.
Last night was rough though. Nico had a tough time getting to sleep. He was warm, changed and fed, but each time we tried to put him down, or each time we even tried to sit down while holding him, he'd start fussing (sometimes wailing). The only thing that soothed him was being held while Mama or Daddy paced around the house. Daddy took the first shift and lasted a good half hour before asking for a break. Mama lasted a mere 20 minutes before her back was ready to give out (not a good sign at the rate this kid seems to be packing on the ounces!). Daddy took over again and made it the final hour or so until Nico was finally ready to hit the hay. It was about 2am.
After that, the night went as usual, quite smoothly -- feeding every 3 hours, rocked for 10 minutes or so after eating, and right to sleep. We all get a good 2 1/2 hours of sleep between feedings, which usually adds up to 7-8 hours of sleep per night!
Anyway, not sure what the lesson of this blog entry is...maybe just that things that seem almost intolerable at night seem easy in the morning. And night only lasts 8 hours or so, max. So buck up, Mama and Daddy!
